Throughout the Unidos Por RGV initiative, our team has engaged the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) at a number of different levels and scales. These processes brought community stakeholders to the table alongside University administrators, faculty, and leading national experts in the fields of education, economic development, planning and health.
Through thoughtful research and extensive outreach we have outlined some of the key issues that the Rio Grande Valley struggles with in transforming itself. We have articulated and prioritized the goals of the communities we represent. We have mapped out the universities, and the communities assets and defined how those assets can be mutually beneficial to each other.
We are now ready to take the next step. Find out more about our Community Committee Campaign.
The Community Forum brought local stakeholders to the table alongside University administrators, faculty, and leading national experts in the fields of education, economic development, planning and health to help propose an aligned community vision for the future of UTRGV.
THE Forum Brief
Leading up to the Community Forum the Unidos Por RGV team did extensive research and outreach. We worked with community leaders, and topic experts to create a deep understanding of the issues that attempt to hold the Rio Grande Valley back from achieving its highest hopes.
THe AGENDA for partnership and transformation
The Community Agenda for Partnership and Transformation articulates our shared vision and goals. It is intended to guide collaboration and to support the development of a truly engaged regional university in South Texas.
The Asset Mapping process connects the platform items identified in the Agenda for Partnership and Transformation with the existing university assets bringing University staff and faculty alongside community members, both groups prioritizing and mapping out strategies for realizing the agenda goals.
our community committee campaign
The Unidos Por RGV team has created a series of graphical tools that capture and share our mission. These tools will be shared on social media platforms, as outreach materials, and in community meetings as a way of continuing to build support for our Community Committee Campaign.
